Abstract
Background: Low back pain is the most expansive disorder in Korea. The pain is the main symptoms of the first and second expansive disorders, and it becomes a big market not only for the medical doctors but also for the para- or non-medical persons. Development and application of the new therapeutic methods including various alternative therapies may cause many legal or ethical problems. We examined the present status and tried to find an adequate solution.

Methods: We collected some un-proven therapies in the Internet by a search engine with the words of ¡¯low back pain¡¯, which was not scientifically verified or may cause a legal or ethical conflict. We present the status of the prevailing of un-proven therapies.

Results: We can find numerous un-proven therapies, which were provided by non-medical persons and medical doctors. Some persons have un-authorized licenses, such as Chinese Medicine, Chiropractor, physical therapist, athletic teacher. Some medical doctors applied and advertised many un-proven medical acts or over-expressed treatments. It is necessary to warn that these therapies are largely experimental and may be harmful and to get the informed consent before these un-proven therapies.

Conclusions: The medical doctors should control the quality of medicine by themselves; otherwise the government or people would control the medical doctors.
